TERMS OF SERVICE

Cars & Plates is an Australian online marketplace that connects private sellers of heritage and personalised number plates with prospective buyers. We provide listing, valuation, and discovery tools. We are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller.

When you post a listing you warrant that (a) you own or are authorised to sell the plate, (b) the information you provide is accurate, and (c) the photos are of the actual plate being sold. We may remove listings that appear fraudulent, duplicative, or otherwise in breach of these terms without notice.

Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing is published. A listing is deemed published when Stripe confirms successful payment.

All listing and Wanted-board fees are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details on our servers. Prices are shown in AUD and include GST where applicable.

We do not verify plate ownership, condition, or right-to-sell. Buyers are responsible for completing the Transfer of Ownership at the relevant state traffic authority. Payment, collection, and transfer take place directly between buyer and seller.

You must not (a) list plates you do not own or are not authorised to sell, (b) use the contact form or messaging system to send spam or unsolicited commercial communication, (c) attempt to circumvent our fees, or (d) scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Cars & Plates excludes all liability for losses arising from transactions between users, from listing inaccuracy, and from service interruption. Our total liability to you is capped at the fees you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
